In his suite Ma Mèrel’Oye (Mother Goose) for piano four-hands, Ravel wanted to evoke the “poetry of childhood.” We hear the deep sleep of Sleeping Beauty, the wandering steps of Tom Thumb, a waltzing Beauty and the Beast, and the magic of the Fairy Garden.

A witch is, of course, a must-have! A short, sparkling piece written by the then 15-year old Hans Henkemans. And with the incredibly Jamaican Rumba by Arthur Benjamin, we imagine ourselves back on carefree white beaches.

Sabine takes us onto the water in Chopin's poetic Barcarollevan Chopin waar het water tegen een gondel aan kabbelt, gevolgd door Liszt’s ongrijpbare, flakkerende flickering FeuxFollets (Will-o'-the-wisps) that lure travelers into the marshes at night. 

The absolute crown jewel of Christmas music is the iconic Nutcracker Suite. Een magisch kerstsprookje over een meisje wiens speelgoed tot leven komt.
